Yellow Sands Caravan Park enjoys a prime coastal position at the mouth of the Kwelera River, just a 25-kilometre drive east of East London. What was once a family dairy farm has been transformed over generations into a beloved holiday destination. For nearly six decades, the Leppan family has welcomed campers to this special spot, and this long history of family ownership is reflected in the park's welcoming atmosphere and meticulous upkeep.

The park features 150 well-maintained campsites, many of which offer sought-after views of either the river or the ocean. This unique setting creates a natural playground for all ages. The river mouth provides a calm, shallow area perfect for younger children to paddle in, while also being a popular spot for fishing and kayaking. Just steps away, the beach opens up for surfing, long walks, and sunbathing.

What a lovely campsite. Lucky to get a site that overlooked the sea on one side and the river mouth on the other. Prime spot to watch a paddle ski race finish. Lovely beach to walk on with lots of pretty shells and clean ablutions.

Best place to have a holiday break away...
Friendly and helpful staff, clean ablutions, well stocked tuck shop. Laundry service available.
And of course nothing beats that beach.

1st time visit from Pretoria and what an amazing experience this was!! Heidi and Taryn went above and beyond to ensure my family and I were comfortable and provided plenty information that assisted us to make a better decision every step of the way. This kinda service is extremely rare. Aiden was knowledgeable and welcomed us warmly. He even assisted to spray down and clean my car car from the tar I picked up on the road. This place is a piece of paradise and my kids also loved it. All the other campers were friendly and welcomed us as well. We will be back and this time for a month. Keep up the amazing work team.

This is my favourite camping spot: Lovely ocean views, lots of trees and shrubs, a swimming pool, and a kids playground. The beach is mostly private, i.e. only resort visitors have access. The lagoon area offers a lot of space for exploration. The seaside campsite ablutions are well maintained and have baths. Lagoon campsites and ablutions are more rugged. Finally, the staff are helpful and friendly.
